Fabio Capello was appointed England’s 12th permanent manager in Dec 2007.
As a player he was a midfielder who won the Serie A Championship (the Scudetto) with Juventus and AC Milan. He played in 32 internationals for Italy and his eight goals included the one that beat England at Wembley in 1973. He has subsequently had an outstanding career as a coach.
He won seven Scudettos in Italy - with
AC Milan, Roma and Juventus. He has won La Liga in Spain twice with Real Madrid. He led England to qualification for the World Cup, clinching the place in South Africa with two games to spare.
